Meloa is a personal reminder app for staying close to family. It does not require an account, and your relationship details are stored locally on your phone. If usage analytics is configured in a released version, only limited product events are sent to help improve the app. These events are not tied to a Meloa account.
May leave your phone

- Limited, allowlisted usage analytics when configured
- Information you choose to include in a support email
- Basic app or device context added by the analytics service
Permissions are used for a specific action
Meloa asks only when a feature needs access. You can change permissions later in your phone settings.
Contacts
When you open the contact picker, Meloa can read the contact you choose so you do not have to type the name and number. Contacts are not uploaded.
Photos
If you choose a photo for someone, Meloa can access that selected image. It remains with the local person record on your device.
Notifications and alarms
Meloa schedules local reminders. Android may also request exact-alarm access so a reminder can arrive at the time you selected.
Phone calls
Meloa hands the number to your phone’s dialer. It does not place calls silently, listen to audio, record calls, or read your system call log.
Limited usage analytics, if enabled
Analytics helps Mudassar Raza understand whether Meloa’s main flows work. Meloa uses PostHog as a service provider when analytics is configured. These events are pseudonymous and are not tied to a Meloa account.
What may be measured
Allowlisted events such as finishing onboarding, creating a reminder, selecting a call outcome, or encountering an error. Events can include a random device identifier, basic app or device context, and categories or counts such as reminder frequency, relationship type, number of people, note length, or notification permission status.
What is not sent
Contact names, phone numbers, photos, note text, conversation content, call audio, and the phone’s call log are not included in Meloa’s analytics events. Meloa does not use analytics for advertising and does not sell personal information.
Retention and deletion
You control the relationship data stored by Meloa.
Local data
Your Meloa data remains on the device until you delete it in the app or uninstall Meloa. Deleting a reminder or person also cancels the related local reminders. Meloa does not provide an account or its own cloud backup; operating-system backups are managed separately by Apple or Google.
Analytics data
If analytics is enabled, pseudonymous events remain in Meloa’s analytics workspace until they are deleted or the service’s configured retention period expires. Because events are not tied to a Meloa account or verified identity, support may be unable to locate an event belonging to a particular person.
Security, children, and changes
Security
Local data is kept in the app’s storage area on your phone. Analytics, when configured, is transmitted using encrypted HTTPS connections. No system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Children
Meloa is intended for people managing their own family contact reminders. It is not designed to collect personal information from children. Contact us if you believe a child has sent personal data through support.
Policy changes
This page will be updated when Meloa’s data practices materially change. The effective date at the top shows when this version took effect.
